Dan Lips is a Senior Policy Analyst at The Heritage Foundation, where he researches and writes on federal and state education issues.
His research has been widely cited and he has appeared on major media outlets. His commentaries have appeared in print and online venues such as National Review Online, The Houston Chronicle, and The Baltimore Sun. Lips also has testified before congressional and state legislative committees. In 2008, he was appointed to the D.C. State Advisory Committee for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights
Before joining Heritage in 2005, Lips was a Senior Policy Adviser at Americans for Prosperity Foundation. He has also served as the executive director of the Arizona Dream Foundation and as an education research associate at the Cato Institute.
In addition, Lips is a Senior Fellow at the Goldwater Institute. He earned his bachelor's degree in politics from Princeton University and his master's degree in statecraft and national security affairs from the Institute of World Politics in Washington, D.C.
