Nick Reid

Nick Reid leads The Heritage Foundation's major gifts department, which fields 10 managers to work with current and prospective donors in regions across the United States.

Before assuming his current responsibilities in August 2009, Reid was manager of donor relations for the Central West region, where he quickly became one of Heritage's most successful fundraisers.

Reid has worked in three departments since joining the policy research institute in 2001 -- External Relations, Government Relations and Development. Early assignments included coordinating outreach to state legislators and governors. He later was deputy director of Senate relations, acting as liaison to members and staff of the U.S. Senate.

Previously, Reid served as press secretary to Rep. Jim Ryun (R-Kansas). In 2006, he was the Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wisconsin's 7th District.

Reid holds a bachelor's degree in political science and pre-law from Indiana Wesleyan University and a certificate in management from Georgetown University. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have six children and currently reside in Fort Washington, Md.
