Originally introduced in 2019, H.R.1 is a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would greatly weaken the security and integrity of our election process. The misnamed “For the People Act” proposes a complete takeover of the administration of our elections by the federal government and includes provisions like outlawing state voter ID laws and mandating that states immediately restore voting rights to felons. We must not allow our electoral safeguards to be stripped away.
