Great news out of the U.S. Supreme Court on the day after Thanksgiving. I wrote last week about the emergency appeal filed with the High Court by Judicial Watch on behalf of several Hawaiian voters trying to stop the ongoing, discriminatory election being held in Hawaii that excludes anyone who doesn’t met the definition of “Native Hawaiian.” Both the Hawaii federal district court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals had refused to issue an injunction to stop an election that violates basic constitutional law, the Voting Rights Act, and prior precedent. But on November 27, Justice Anthony Kennedy issued an order enjoining the defendants “from counting the ballots cast, and certifying the winners of the election” until further order of the Court.
