The Supreme Court returns October 3 for its 2022-2023 Term, and the justices will hear cases on a number of important issues: affirmative action, race, elections, administrative law, immigration, and more.

For instance, in Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University of North Carolina, the Court will determine whether institutions of higher education cannot use race as a factor in admissions. In Moore v. Harper, the Court will determine if state legislatures have the authority from the Constitution to regulate federal elections without oversight from state courts. In Sackett v. Environmental Protection Agency, the Court will establish if the 9^th Circuit set forth the proper test to determine whether wetlands are "waters of the United States" under the Clean Water Act. In United States v. Texas, the Court will decide if the state plaintiffs have Article III standing to challenge the Department of Homeland Security’s Guidelines for the Enforcement of Civil Immigration Law.
