Washington, D.C. -- The Heritage Foundation’s Ryan Anderson, a senior research fellow in the DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society, was named the first fellow for the University of Dallas’ St. John Paul II Social Thought Teaching Fellowship.
The University of Dallas, a Catholic university based in Irving, Texas, set up the fellowship as part of a plan to create an institute for Catholic social teaching.
Anderson, who will continue to work at Heritage, will become an adjunct faculty member in the university’s politics department. He will teach two classes each year as well as present lectures and an annual conference in collaboration with the American Public Philosophy Institute.
His first lecture, “Catholic Thought and the Challenges of Our Time," will be held at the University of Dallas campus on March 25.
“It is a singular privilege to be associated with two world-class institutions,” Anderson said. “As a research fellow at Heritage, I’ll continue to research and write about marriage, bioethics, religious liberty, and civil society. And now as a teaching fellow at the University of Dallas, I’ll be able to help form the next generation on how to think about many of these same issues, their implications, and foundations.”
