The Heritage Foundation has again been ranked as the No. 1 think tank when it comes to impact on public policy, according to the latest edition of an annual report released by the University of Pennsylvania.
Heritage also ranked first in the “Best Use of the Internet” category.
The “2018 Global Go-To Think Tank Index” maintains the largest, most comprehensive database of more than 8,100 think tanks globally and ranks them in multiple categories. According to the report, 3,750 journalists, policymakers, public and private donors, and functional- and regional-area specialists participate in the process.
The index’s editor, James McGann, writes that “given the rigor and scope of the nomination and selection processes, the rankings produced thus far have been described as the insider’s guide to the global marketplace of ideas.”
“Ideas shape who we are, how we live, and how we are governed. Think tanks play a key role in determining which ideas win and which ones are consigned to the dustbin,” said Kay Coles James, president of The Heritage Foundation.
“Before coming aboard last year as president of The Heritage Foundation, I already knew this organization had been a heart- and mind-winner for a generation. So, it is gratifying to have that truth confirmed, with Heritage once again being recognized as a leader among many thousands of policy organizations making a difference across the globe.”
Heritage ranked second in the categories “Think Tank to Watch in 2019” and “Best Advocacy Campaign.” Read the full report and list of rankings here.
