Janice Rogers Brown

The Honorable Janice Rogers Brown, served as a judge on the D.C. Circuit from 2005 until her retirement in 2017. From 1996 to 2005, Brown was an Associate Justice on the California Supreme Court, having previously served as a judge on the Third District Court of Appeal and as the Legal Affairs Secretary to Gov. Pete Wilson. Judge Brown is a graduate of UCLA School of Law, and received the school’s Alumnus of the Year award in 1998 and UCLA’s Award for Excellence in Public Service in 2004. She holds a Master of Laws degree in Judicial Process from the University of Virginia School of Law, and honorary doctorate degrees from Pepperdine University and Southwestern School of Law, among her many other accolades.
