As A at The Heritage Foundation, Paul Gallagher promotes the think tank’s ground-breaking research to journalists nationwide. He works mainly with commentary editors, supplying them with op-eds by Heritage analysts on a wide array of domestic and foreign policy topics.
Timely, challenging opinion essays edited by him have been published in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and dozens of other newspapers, magazines and Web sites. Under Gallagher, the number of Heritage op-eds appearing in major publications (with circulations of 50,000 and above) has more than doubled since 2001.
Before coming to Heritage in 1999, Gallagher served as Director of Communications at the Center for Jewish & Christian Values, which provides a forum for Jewish and Christian voices in the public-policy debate. Before that, he edited two monthly newsletters for Human Life International, a Catholic organization that promotes the sanctity of life. He also has been a Publications Director for Citizens United.
Gallagher holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland in College Park, where he worked as a writer and editor on The Diamondback, an award-winning campus daily newspaper.
