WASHINGTON—Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts today issued the following statement on the death of former Senator Majority Leader Bob Dole:

“Bob Dole, with his undefeatable spirit, was always welcome at The Heritage Foundation.

“A decorated war hero from Kansas, Bob did not let his grievous combat wounds prevent him from becoming a skilled legislator, master strategist and renowned statesman.

“Bob was both rich in talent and firm in convictions—just two of the reasons why his Senate Republican peers trusted him as their leader. Throughout his life, he was an indefatigable fighter in the cause of freedom and a dedicated public servant.”
