The Heritage Foundation, founded in 1973, is a think tank committed to formulating and promoting public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.
To advance Heritage’s mission, we host events at our Washington, D.C. headquarters, at other venues throughout the country, and virtually. Many events are open to the public while others are private or invite only. Registering for or attending an event indicates that you agree to Heritage’s Terms and Conditions of Attendance contained herein.
REGISTRATION
If you would like to join us, we encourage and may require advance registration; select events may allow for on-site registration. Please note that some events may also require a registration fee to attend, may be limited to non-transferrable invitation, or may have admittance subject to occupancy limits and available seating. Please check event details for specific instructions.
DECORUM
We welcome opportunities to discuss and debate ideas, however guests must refrain from disruptive behavior, interference of a program, non-compliance with requests from staff or security, trespassing, soliciting, peddling, loitering, and any other behavior deemed inappropriate at Heritage’s discretion. Please ask for permission in advance if you would like to distribute promotional items such as flyers, handbills, or printed materials. Signs, banners, posters, flags, and items deemed as a distraction or that could be used as weapons are prohibited.
Additional provisions to this policy may apply pursuant to our agreement with the venue and/or external partners.
ACCESSIBILITY
The Heritage Foundation aims to create events that are accessible for guests of all abilities. If you need special assistance or accommodations, please contact your event host for information.
BAGS AND PERSONAL ITEMS
For the safety of all attendees, speakers, staff, and other program participants, all persons, packages, bags, and other containers are subject to search. If a personal item requires storage throughout the event, we, or the event venue, may provide storage for your belongings; please note that storage of personal belongings is not guaranteed and Heritage is not responsible for items that are lost, misplaced, or left behind.
USE OF IMAGE OR LIKENESS

RECORDING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
We reserve the right to (1) restrict or prohibit audio or video recording, streaming or transmission of an event or the taking of photographs, and (2) remove anyone conducting unauthorized recording or photography, particularly at private or “off the record” events. Any person who conducts unauthorized recording or photography hereby grants Heritage permission to retain the recording device used to make an unauthorized recording and transfers ownership of the unauthorized recording of the event to The Heritage Foundation.
