Heritage Teach-In equips leaders with serious solutions to prevent violence in schools and communities
Heritage president opens workshop; experts, violence-prevention advocates, students available to media at roundtable discussion following School Safety Teach-In
WASHINGTON – The Heritage Foundation is convening a School Safety Teach-In March 21 and 22. The workshop will include discussions led by Heritage experts and other school safety advocates where they will share important information to help direct the debate toward real solutions and equip the participants with the tools to bring real change to their communities.
Participants will learn more about the events leading to the Feb. 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, how it might have been prevented, and the root causes of school violence. There will also be presentation highlighting policies and programs that strengthen families and communities and make schools safer.
Heritage invites media to attend the event’s opening address by Heritage President Kay Coles James followed by a Q&A opportunity, and for a roundtable discussion at the conclusion of the School Safety Teach-In. The remainder of the sessions are private and only open to registered participants, who include parents, grandparents, civic leaders and students from across the country.
