WASHINGTON—Despite efforts from the media to say otherwise, violent crime is up in America. A new documentary released today from The Heritage Foundation provides insight into why many American cities are crime-ridden—namely from the pro-criminal, anti-victim, police-hating radical agendas of leftist district attorneys across America. 

The new 16-minute documentary tells the story of this failed social experiment by weaving together video evidence from activists who support defunding the police and abolishing all prisons. It also shows the havoc that these soft-on-crime policies have brought to communities.    

The video features victims of rogue prosecutors whose lives were destroyed by the pro-criminal policies of Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, Baltimore’s former District Attorney Marilyn Mosby, Oakland’s District Attorney Pamela Price, and others.   

The documentary also highlights Sacramento District Attorney Thien Ho and San Diego District Attorney Summer Stephen, who explain how public safety requires real prosecutors to focus on protecting victims and the public and how the rogue prosecutor effort has failed.      

“This documentary tells the full story, through the mouths of the radicals who support the movement, the real prosecutors who protect victims, and victims whose lives were destroyed by the worst social experiment ever unleashed on civil society,” said Charles “Cully” Stimson, senior legal fellow, deputy director of Heritage’s Edwin Meese III Center, and co-narrator of the documentary.
