WASHINGTON—The Heritage Foundation announced Monday that it has chosen Feds for Freedom to receive the Heritage Innovation Prize. The grassroots organization will receive a $100,000 award for its work exposing radical progressive policies within the federal government.
Feds for Freedom’s The Pronoun Fight – A Fight for Truth, Sanity, and Freedom of Religion initiative has revealed how federal agencies waste millions of taxpayer dollars to ensure employees comply with “pronoun policies.” These policies include requiring employees to recognize all pronouns requested by coworkers and allowing employees to use restrooms based on preferred pronouns.
Feds for Freedom will file a pre-enforcement challenge in federal court against these policies based on First Amendment protections of Freedom of speech and religious liberty. This will ensure that the American public is aware of the federal government’s abuses.
The Heritage Foundation’s President, Dr. Kevin Roberts, released the following statement:
“Rather than advancing their department missions on behalf of the American people, federal agencies are advancing a radical social agenda. These rogue agencies misuse taxpayer dollars to mandate a woke culture in the federal workforce. They must be held accountable.
“All Americans should praise Feds for Freedom’s unveiling of these abuses. Their critical work allows the American people to see how the government uses their taxpayer dollars and paves the way for them to be held more accountable.”
Feds for Freedom President Marcus Thornton added:
“Feds for Freedom is a grassroots coalition of thousands of federal workers who believe the government should promote freedom and be reflective of the values of the American people.
“We led the fight against draconian COVID mandates and prevented the firing of hundreds of hundreds of thousands who stood up for their beliefs with the injunction we won in Feds v. Biden. We are grateful that Heritage is standing with us to counter the weaponization of woke, radical DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies within the federal government.”
The Heritage Innovation Prize recognizes and provides substantive financial awards totaling up to $1 million annually to results-oriented nonprofits for projects involving research, litigation, education, outreach, or communications, particularly those focused on empowering parents in education, holding Big Tech accountable, countering the threat of the Chinese Communist Party, securing America’s borders and reducing crime, ensuring free and fair elections, reducing the growth of spending and inflation, and promoting life and family formation.
This is the fourth round of Heritage Innovation Prizes to be awarded. In 2023, winners of the Prize included Communio, the National Association of Scholars, the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, Speech First, and the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. These awards are sponsored by The Heritage Foundation’s robust endowment for innovative conservative projects.
