David Inserra was a policy analyst in Heritage's Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy who specialized in homeland security issues, including cyber, counterterrorism, and immigration policy.
Inserra researched and wrote Heritage Foundation papers and contributed to Heritage’s news platform, The Daily Signal, on a variety of homeland security topics and policies. As part of this work, he maintained Heritage’s timeline of Islamist terrorist attacks and plots against the U.S. homeland since 9/11. His written work has appeared in The Hill, the Washington Times, Fox News, and the National Interest. He is a regular guest on radio and television stations across the country including Fox News and NPR. Inserra has testified before Congress and participates in private briefings as well as in in public debates and events to discuss national security issues facing the U.S.
Inserra, who joined Heritage in 2012, grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He holds a Masters in Public Policy from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts in government and economics from the College of William & Mary. He and his wife, Cayla, reside in Arlington, Virginia.
