Matthew Tragesser is a Senior Communications Manager at The Heritage Foundation where he leads and executes Strategic Communications campaigns related to national security and constitutional issues.
He previously served as the Communications Director for U.S. Congressman and Chairman of the Congressional Border Security Caucus Andy Biggs (R-AZ). Before working on Capitol Hill, Tragesser served as Press Secretary and National Spokesperson for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)—a large public interest non-profit advocating for secure borders and the rule of law. His political communications career began in Wisconsin, where he worked for the John K. MacIver Institute for Public Policy and the Wisconsin State Senate.
Tragesser completed his master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
