Description

The Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act was enacted in 1994 to counter what its supporters described as an organized, nationwide campaign of blockades, vandalism, and violence against abortion clinics and their staff by pro-life protestors. The lack of any statute to protect the First Amendment rights of ordinary pro-life activists led to the FACE Act becoming a weapon of the federal government, with selective enforcement targeting and attacking only those peaceful protestors with whom the former administration disagreed.

Join us for a timely discussion with leading legal and policy experts on why the FACE Act is duplicative, unconstitutional, and must be repealed, as well as to hear the stories of those who have been unjustly targeted and charged with violations of this illegitimate law.
