WASHINGTON—The Heritage Foundation today announced the election of Darryle Owens to the Heritage Board of Trustees. Owens is a lifelong conservative, management expert, former health care executive, and longtime friend of Heritage.
Following the election, Heritage Board of Trustees Chairman Barb Van Andel-Gaby welcomed Owens to the esteemed board, saying:
“I am proud to welcome Darryle Owens to the Board of Trustees. The board’s job of guiding Heritage into its next 50 years requires principled leadership, continuous dedication, and an unwavering belief in our conservative vision for America. Darryle’s lifelong commitment to his community and his country exemplifies the qualities we look for in every member of the board. It’s an honor to welcome him to the team.”
Owens is the newest member of the board, which is charged with governing The Heritage Foundation, one of the country’s largest, most effective policy organizations. Heritage celebrated its 50th anniversary earlier this year.
Commenting on his new role, Owens said:
“I’m honored to serve alongside such accomplished trustees and support the most brilliant minds and talented, savvy leaders in the policy world. The conservative movement would not be where it is without Heritage, and it’s my privilege to contribute whatever I can to the success of this organization and to the cause of freedom.”
Owens has a proven track record of management and leadership success. For two decades, he served in various roles in marketing, health care, and consulting. Owens began his career working for one of the most recognizable health care companies in the country, followed by a management role at one of the largest consulting firms in the world. Since then, Owens has used his financial and business acumen to build various brands, grow companies large and small, and develop strategic partnerships around the country.
While managing his professional career, Owens has remained committed to his community and conservative beliefs. In addition to his longstanding support for Heritage, Owens has served as a volunteer and board member for various nonprofit organizations focused on serving children and families in need, including community groups, educational institutions, and his church.
Owens resides in Minneapolis, Minn., with his wife and two children, and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Grove City College.
